Bamboo

Bamboo embodies lightness, strength and clean modern lines. Our artisans split mature bamboo into fine strips, then weave or laminate them into graceful forms — from trays and organizers to statement accents for everyday living.

Why Bamboo?

How It’s Made

  • Harvest: Mature culms are selected for stability and quality.
  • Preparation: Splitting, planing and smoothing into uniform strips.
  • Forming: Weaving or laminating over molds for shape and strength.
  • Finish: Sanded and sealed with low-VOC, water-based finishes where needed.

Care & Maintenance

  • Wipe with a dry or slightly damp cloth; dry immediately.
  • Avoid soaking and harsh detergents.
  • Keep away from persistent heat sources and direct, prolonged sunlight.
  • Food-contact trays: use a liner for oily or colored foods to prevent stains.

Bamboo FAQs

Is bamboo the same as rattan?

No. Bamboo is a hollow grass with nodes; rattan is a solid vine. Both are natural, but they look and behave differently.

Can bamboo go in the dishwasher?

No. Hand wipe only; avoid prolonged water exposure.

Will bamboo darken?

Mild mellowing may occur with age; avoid direct sun to keep tones even.

Is the finish food-safe?

Where finishes are used, they are water-based. Use a liner for oily/colored foods to prevent staining.
